On this Thursday, breaking news is out that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs is back at practice after missing time with a hamstring injury, but Christian Watson still did not return to practice. This is good news for Green Bay that Doubs is back because that means he could potentially play this weekend on the road against the Chicago Bears.

However, Watson still being sidelined means he could potentially have to miss the season opener this weekend. Doubs has been out with his hamstring injury since a day before the Seattle Seahawks preseason finale. A lot of people are expecting big things from him this season for the Green Bay Packers.
Romeo Doubs has been developing chemistry during the preseason with quarterback Jordan Love. Doubs is looking to play a big role in the Packers offense this season. He will step in as the top wide receiver this weekend for Green Bay if Watson can not play.
This is huge for the Packers offense getting off on the right foot and not being depleted in the receiver room.
Romeo Doubs Returning to Practice Will Take Pressure off of Green Bay Packers Rookie Receivers
With Doubs returning to practice for the Packers, this means that the rookies won’t have as much pressure on them to perform at the receiver position. Names like Jayden Reed, Malik Heath, and Dontavyion Wicks are rookies on this roster at the wide receiver position who would have to potentially step up and may have to anyway.
Reed drops from being the top receiver to the second receiver now with Doubs back on the practice field. They will still need a reliable slot receiver this weekend, and Heath and Wicks’s number could still be called upon. Not having Christain Watson on the field on Thursday isn’t ideal, but Doubs being back is a huge deal. If he is good to go on Sunday, the offense will be fine.
