As has been the case for almost the entire 2023 NFL season, Green Bay Packers fans are waiting to hear about the final status of wide receiver Christian Watson for the team’s Week 18 win-and-in showdown with the Chicago Bears.
Watson has been unable to stay on the field this season. He has suffered multiple hamstring issues and has been unable to come back from them quickly. There has been hope all week that he could play against Chicago.
If the Packers are going to knock off the Bears and get into the playoffs, they will need all hands on deck. Chicago is not a pushover team to beat and have been surging in recent weeks. Watson being on the field would be a major help for the team’s offense.
Green Bay Packers Receive Friday Status Update On Christian Watson
After practicing for much of the week and openly stating that he is hoping to play on Sunday, Watson was unable to practice on Friday. That is a major concern. No one knows yet if the day was a scheduled day off or a setback for the talented young wide receiver.
LB Preston Smith back at practice for #Packers on Friday. He’s missed only one game in his 9-year career. G Elgton Jenkins also back.

Watson has only played in nine games so far this season for the Green Bay Packers. He has made his presence felt when he has been on the field, catching 28 passes for 422 yards and five touchdowns.
Before his latest injury back against the Kansas City Chiefs, Watson had started playing like his old self. He was quickly becoming Jordan Love’s No. 1 option once again. Against the Chiefs, he had recorded seven catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns.
Hopefully, this is a scheduled rest day for Watson and he will be able to get back on the field on Sunday. The Green Bay Packers need him and if they don’t beat the Bears, their season will likely be over.
