On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers will face the worst team in the NFL against the Carolina Panthers and quarterback Bryce Young. Young was the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Alabama and he has struggled big time during his rookie season.
There was a reason why maybe former Panthers head coach Frank Reich wanted C.J. Stroud over Bryce Young in the first place. With Young struggling all season long, Packers fans are worried that he will have a career day against them on Sunday.
One of the reasons is that head coach Matt LaFleur decided not to fire defensive coordinator Joe Barry and will keep him for the final three games of the 2023 NFL regular season. Green Bay is in must-win territory with a 6-8 record and trying to stay alive in the NFC Wild Card race.
This season, he has completed only 59.9% of his passes for 2,359 yards, nine touchdowns, and nine interceptions. The most he has thrown for in a game this season was 247 passing yards against the Detroit Lions on 10/8. The last time Bryce Young threw for over 200 yards was for 235 passing yards against the Houston Texans on 10/29.
In the last two weeks, the Green Bay Packers defense, has struggled to defend third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito of the New York Giants and also gave up a perfect passer rating to Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Green Bay Packers Fans Talk On Twitter About the Possibility of Bryce Young Having a Career Day
The second the game ended against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, they saw who was coming up next on the schedule and that was the Carolina Panthers. Green Bay fans were tweeting about facing Bryce Young this upcoming week and they had some interesting tweets to share nonetheless:

I can’t believe there are Packers fans on my timeline talking about what tonight’s game means for Green Bay’s playoff hopes like Bryce Young isn’t going to erupt for 375 yards passing and 5 touchdowns on Sunday to ruin Christmas.

If Bryce Young goes out there and lights this Packers defense up. You fire both of them🙃🙃 https://t.co/BBI2B6SEVi

Seeing the tweet that had Young turn into Dan Marino for the upcoming game against Joe Barry’s defense and the Packers’ defense was hilarious. Still, at the same time, it is going to upset the fanbase knowing he shouldn’t be the defensive coordinator. Green Bay has to be good on defense this week or Twitter will be set ablaze if it doesn’t happen.
