After defeating the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday with a score of 48-32, the Green Bay Packers have advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs and will travel to California to take on the number 1 seeded San Francisco 49ers. The Packers held their first practice of the week on Wednesday and there were multiple players on the sidelines, but only one was listed on the offensive side of the ball.
Green Bay Packers RB AJ Dillon Misses Wednesday’s Practice Due to a Neck Injury

AJ Dillon, who has not seen the field since taking a hit to the neck on New Years Eve against the Minnesota Vikings was not seen in pads for Wednesday’s practice. Dillon has dealt with multiple injuries throughout the season and managed to play through some of them, but this neck injury has taken more time to recover.

While Dillon was not seen on the field for the first practice of the week, he will have another chance to log participation before Green Bay make a ruling on his status. Head Coach Matt LaFleur stated that this week will hold mostly walkthrough practices, which should help Dillon ease back into full speed contact.
Aaron Jones Continues to Be Workhorse with Dillon on the Sidelines

While Dillon has been recovering, Aaron Jones has taken over as a true workhorse back. In the last 3 games without Dillon, Jones is averaging 134 yards from scrimmage on 23.3 touches per game and scored three touchdowns in the wildcard round versus the Cowboys. Jones was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice with knee and finger injuries, but participating shows that it’s not threatening to his status for Saturday.

If Dillon continues to be on the sidelines for Green Bay, expect Jones to carry the heavy workload once again against the 49ers considering his participation. Running backs Emmanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor will serve as the backups to Jones if Dillon cannot suit up. Green Bay will hold one more practice before traveling to San Francisco to take on the 49ers on Saturday night.
