Throughout his memorable eight-year tenure with the Green Bay Packers, Davante Adams played alongside just one quarterback. He goes by the name of Aaron Rodgers, who to his credit, played an undeniably integral role in Adams’ success throughout the wide receiver’s decorated career.
When Adams joined the Las Vegas Raiders last season, he got to reunite with good friend and former Fresno State teammate Derek Carr. The Raiders moved on from Carr this past summer, though, and Adams has since had to make the necessary adjustments again playing with a new quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo.
Ex-Green Bay Packers Star Davante Adams Compared Aaron Rodgers to Jimmy Garoppolo

Adams has nothing but good things to say about his new quarterback, though. Despite the fact that they haven’t had much time to play alongside each other, the three-time All-Pro wideout has seen enough in Garoppolo to prove to him that the 31-year-old quarterback is the real deal:
“Jimmy’s an easy guy to work with because he’s one of the best that I’ve been around at any position, let alone quarterback, of taking accountability,” Adams said. “Not taking anything away from Derek and Aaron, but Jimmy does a good job of not coming in acting like he knows everything. He’s open to suggestions and me talking through ways that I’ve done in the past.”

While this isn’t exactly Adams throwing shade at Rodgers (or Carr), he did just compare Garoppolo to the four-time league MVP. It wasn’t done in a negative light — after all, Adams and Rodgers go way back — but there’s no denying that Rodgers has caught a bit of a stray here after being named directly in Adams’ statement.
Davante Adams Remaining Optimistic

Much like his newfound relationship with Garoppolo, Adams’ time in Las Vegas hasn’t yielded the expected results The major difference is that Adams and Garoppolo have played just three games together, while the former’s tenure with the Raiders is now on its second season.
Despite the lack of success, however, the Pro Bowl wide receiver remains optimistic:
“It’s also a process of this thing takes time to develop, so you can’t count your chickens until they hatch,” he said. “Because if we would’ve done that, then there would’ve been no Davante Adams at this point.”
