The Green Bay Packers are just 2-4 and have lost three consecutive games. While there are a plethora of reasons for their most recent struggles, injuries to the team have not helped. In their Week Seven loss to the Denver Broncos, running back Aaron Jones returned to the field for extended usage for the first time since Week One.
In Green Bay’s opening weekend win over the Chicago Bears, Jones suffered a hamstring injury as he ran a Jordan Love screen pass in for his second touchdown of the day. Jones went onto miss both Packers’ games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints before returning in a very limited capacity against the Detroit Lions.
Jones reaggravated the injury the day before the Packers fell to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week Five and was held out of yet another Green Bay defeat.
In his return against the Broncos, Jones had eight carries for 35 yards and three receptions for 22 yards. Clearly, limiting Jones to just 11 touches is not a recipe for success, but it appears that Matt LaFleur wanted to ease him back into action.
Green Bay Packers Running Back Aaron Jones Was Not Spotted Practicing
According to Tom Silverstein of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Jones was among a long list of players that did not practice today:
#Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) and CB Jaire Alexander (back) are practicing. ILB DeVondre Campbell (ankle) and S Zayne Anderson (hamstring) are back. RB Aaron Jones , S Darnell Savage (calf), CB Eric Stokes (hamstring), TE Luke Musgrave (ankle) and C Josh Myers (knee) not. pic.twitter.com/GQWBmUoSoq

When Jones was not spotted at practice, many worried that he had suffered a setback with his injured hamstring. However, that is not the case.
Green Bay Packers Running Back Aaron Jones Did Not Reinjure His Calf
Silverstein later clarified that Jones not practicing today is not a result of a new injury. Likely, it is because Green Bay is being careful with their best offensive player ahead of their Week Eight matchup with the Vikings:
FYI, Aaron Jones was inside stretching and may or may not practice, but he didn’t have a setback. https://t.co/XNiXsykvHk

This is certainly good news for the Packers, who absolutely need Jones on the field.
