This off-season has been pretty wild for the Green Bay Packers. Just a few weeks ago it was widely thought that the Packers would retain Aaron Jones and move on from AJ Dillon. Today, Jones is a member of the Vikings and Dillon re-signed with the Packers.
In the midst of all that, the Packers decided to sign Josh Jacobs to a massive four-year deal. After the dust settled, Aaron Jones took the opportunity to let the NFL world know how he felt about Jacobs being a member of the Packers.
Former Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones Let Josh Jacobs Know How He Feels

On X (former Twitter) Aaron Jones had some choice words for Josh Jacobs:
You know it’s all love @iAM_JoshJacobs
🙏🏾 enjoy Green Bay You are gonna love it 💯 https://t.co/f0T7BaI60i— Aaron Jones 3️⃣3️⃣ (@Showtyme_33) March 15, 2024
Jones chose kindness this time regarding the Packers. According to one report:
During his introductory press conference with the Minnesota Vikings, Jones’ was quoted by saying “It’s a part of the business. You know what you signed up for. My agent had called me before all of that happened, told me it was a possibility, so my mind was already prepared, and I just wanted to go where I felt wanted.
That’s here, and I’m excited to be here.” It’s clear that while Jones gave the Packers many years of quality production, he never really felt like a feature back for the team and is excited about having the opportunity to prove that he is with the Vikings.
The Green Bay Packers are coming off of what many believe to be an extremely successful season given the circumstances. The team’s main goal for the 2023 season was to develop their young quarterback Jordan Love and hopefully come out of it with their future franchise quarterback.
Fortunately, Love showed significant growth as the season progressed as he led them to a playoff appearance in just his first season starting. Now is the time for the Packers to surround their young star quarterback with as much high end talent as they possibly can in hopes of taking yet another step next season.
The Packers Will Face Aaron Jones Twice This Season

For the first time in his seven year career, Jones will be on the other side when taking on the Packers. During his career, he has carried the ball 1,177 times for 5,940 yards, caught 272 passes for 2,076 yards, and scored 63 touchdowns. 1 Pro Bowl appearance was awarded to him.
Aaron Jones was a quality player during his time in Green Bay, but it’s clear the front office and coaching staff have changed their approach toward building their roster with younger premier players that can help Love ascend.
The departure of Aaron Jones will allow Jacobs to assume the role of RB1, while Jones’s former team will be able to see him at least twice a season with the Minnesota Vikings. With Jacobs and Jones now competing in the division, it will be interesting to see how their careers unfold.
