There’s been a lot of hype surrounding Thursday’s showdown as Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks take on the San Antonio Spurs — and rightfully so. After all, this is the first time Giannis gets to face off against rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama.
Well, the two stars have not disappointed thus far.
Victor Wembanyama Responds to Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Slam
It did not take long before Giannis and Wemby started to get things going on Thursday night. Early in the second quarter, Antetokounmpo threw one down all over Spurs stud Jeremy Sochan after a nifty spin move. In the very next sequence, Wemby caught Giannis slipping, which led to the San Antonio youngster finishing an insane off-the-backboard alley-oop to himself:

At first, I thought Wembanyama was going to take off from the free-throw line to lay in the ball. He did not have enough of a run-up, though, so he decided to treat the fans with an even more mind-blowing play.
You also have to give credit to Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller for the way they called this sequence. Their colorful commentary made the back-to-back plays even better.
You can be sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of that highlight play in the days to come.
