The last time Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks took on the San Antonio Spurs, Victor Wembanyama was unable to play due to injury. This won’t be the case on Thursday night, though, as both stars will be available for their respective teams, thereby paving the way for the first-ever Giannis vs. Wemby showdown.
You can be sure that not only Milwaukee and San Antonio fans are looking forward to this matchup. In fact, the rest of the basketball world is already eagerly anticipating the individual battle between the old guard and the new kid on the block.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Vs. Victor Wembanyama Hype is Real
It also helps that this first-ever meeting between Giannis and Wemby comes on an NBA Thursday that has only two games slated on the schedule. As such, all eyes have been on the Bucks and the Spurs as the game’s 7:30 pm EST tip-off time approaches.
At this point, it’s safe to say that the mean streets of Twitter are pretty excited about what’s to come:

Setting the Giannis vs. Wemby hype aside, however, this matchup could be considered a must-win game for the Bucks. They are coming off back-to-back losses to the Indiana Pacers and are battling a San Antonio side that currently lies dead last in the Western Conference with a 5-28 record.
A loss for the Bucks tonight would be disastrous.
