The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers 40-33 on Sunday night. It truly was a frustrating game, but there were some very bright spots. Jordan Love looked great in relief of an injured Aaron Rodgers. Christian Watson had 110 receiving yards and a touchdown. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon each scored touchdowns and had 178 combined all-purpose yards. Indeed, there was a lot to like about the Packers’ offense. Unfortunately, the exact opposite was true of the Packers’ defense. This unit continued to struggle in every way. Even more frustrating, they appeared completely unprepared for the Eagles and could not make adjustments during the game. This has been the norm all season, and it has led former Packers tight end Tom Crabtree to call for a change and Joe Barry, Packers defensive coordinator’s job.
Former Packers Tight End Tom Crabtree Wants Joe Barry Fired
After the Packers scored a touchdown to make it a one-score game, Crabtree got very real on Twitter:
I hate to be that guy but now our defense will be on the field.

The Packers’ defense was truly terrible against the Eagles. They consequently gave up an absurd 363 rushing yards and 7.4 yards per carry. As a result, this was the most rushing yards allowed by an NFL defense in decades. Yes, it was historically bad.
In response to the Tom Crabtree tweet, one fan stated, “Barry needs to be gone tomorrow.” To be sure, that is an opinion that is shared by many Packers fans. Crabtree, however, had a humorous, yet also [probably] completely serious response:
Why wait so long?? https://t.co/MiMaO8OG0W

At 4-8, there is really no chance that firing Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry would subsequently be enough to get them to the playoffs. The reality of the situation is that Packers fans will likely have to watch infuriating defensive game plans for the remainder of the season. That being said, there has to be a change this offseason. At least we and Tom Crabtree certainly can hope.

Who is responsible for the defensive “Coach”???? The Head Coach is responsible for the coaching staff!!!! Matt Leflur needs to be fired, but yeah his won/Lost is deceptive, He continues to make bad calls, as a Packers fan since 1966 The Packers are a “Team” When are they going to play like a “Team”??????? Since his bad “Call” against Tampa (2021) Less than 2min to go 4th and goal 8points behind MVP at quarterback, Duh you kick a field goal!!! *Fireable* Offence in my Play Book!!!!
I agree with you. The defense was bad last year and no one did anything to fire him. The coach hired him because they are friends. He followed with a bad record, so why would you hire him. We have excellent defense players. You put the blame on the coach. Throw him under the bus. Hire Jim L. was Wi

Well if Jim Leonhard was indeed their first choice two years ago, I would think they’d be calling him if he decides not to stay at Wisconsin under Fickell
