The Wisconsin football staff has begun scouting a 2026 safety from Arizona who could become a versatile defender at the college level.
Niko Jandreau, a 2026 athlete, primarily plays safety but also shifts over to nickel cornerback and linebacker when needed as well. Jandreau has drawn decent attention from big programs already, but has not received the big scholarship offers he is looking for just yet. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Jandreau broke down his thoughts on Wisconsin as well as what he is looking for in his future collegiate home.
Wisconsin Football Scouting 2026 Arizona Native Athlete Niko Jandreau

The Wisconsin football staff has had success recruiting in the state of Arizona as of late with a massive commitment from Logan Powell. In the 2026 recruiting class, Wisconsin is hoping to replicate their success and has scouted nearly the entire state. Among the recruits they have scouted and shown interest in is 2026 athlete Niko Jandreau.
Jandreau is officially listed as a safety, but the recruit also has experience playing nickel cornerback and outside linebacker. Jandreau is likely going to be considered an athlete moving forward since his play is not confined to a single position.
The athlete states that Arizona State, Arizona, Iowa State, and Colorado State have been in the closest contact early on. The Wisconsin football staff has not yet contacted Jandreau, but the recruit has been receiving mail and messages from the Badgers recruiting staff.
Niko Jandreau: “The Competition is Something I Really Consider”

For Jandreau, there are some factors that weigh ahead of others when thinking about what his future college home should look like. When asked about what he is looking for in a college, Jandreau responded “I think culture is definitely what defines a program and I would like to be a part of somewhere that promotes winning and excellence.”
As bigger schools have come in contact with Jandreau, the learning process has continued as he has begun to learn more about the schools speaking to him. When asked about his thoughts on Wisconsin following their interest, Jandreau stated “I know they are in the Big Ten so the competition is something that I really consider. They seem like a hard-nose football team with a good culture so I am excited to see where it goes.”
Jandreau also added that it is “…nice to know that I could possible be on their board,” when speaking about the interest Wisconsin has shown.
What the Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff, Other Programs See In Jandreau

For the Wisconsin football staff and other programs, Jandreau has truly stood out on film and could become an exceptional collegiate player.
When lining up as a defensive back or a deep safety, Jandreau reads the field perfectly and in particular has great vision when it comes to check-down routes. The athlete stuffs offensive players and also often separates the receiver from the ball. Jandreau may have the frame of a safety at 6-feet even and roughly 185-pounds, but the athlete has supreme hitting power like a big-bodied linebacker would.
The versatility of Jandreau is what separates him from other recruits in the secondary because of his combination of power and athleticism. Jandreau has the speed, cutting ability, and jumping ability to keep up with just about any receiver that is thrown his way.
