Milwaukee Brewers and MLB fans everywhere were treated to one of the most entertaining events of the summer on Monday night: the Home Run Derby. While no Brewers players were participants in this year’s derby, fans still tuned in to watch some of the best power hitters in baseball go head-to-head. Teoscar Hernandez of the Los Angeles Dodgers won last night’s event against Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals.

However, the talk of the night was not the performances of Hernandez or the other sluggers. Instead, most conversation (especially online) centered around the awful rendition of the National Anthem before the event. Ingrid Andress, a four-time Grammy Award nominee, was the artist who performed the Anthem.

Prior to the start of the Home Run Derby, four-time Grammy Award nominee Ingrid Andress performed the National Anthem, as is tradition prior to any sporting event involving American teams.

As can be heard in the video, her rendition was, in a word, terrible. During her singing (as well as after), fans took to social media to roast her performance.

I hope Ingrid Andress stays off of social media for a minute

That Ingrid Andress national anthem might have been the worst thing to happen in America in the last 48 hours #brutal

As seen from the reactions, fans were far from impressed with her performance. In fact, they were borderline cruel with their criticism of her performance.

Today, Andress made her first public statement since the debacle.

Apparently, the singer was intoxicated at the time of her performance. She has decided to check herself into a rehab facility in an effort to get sober.

Hopefully she gets the help that she needs.
