The Chiefs are primed for another run at the Super Bowl. Like any team hoping for a deep playoff run, they are starting to look at where they can fill the holes in their roster. For the stretch run, they have brought in some help from a former Wisconsin Badger. Former Badgers RB Melvin Gordon is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Former Badgers RB Melvin Gordon Signing With The Chiefs
Gordon was released by the Denver Broncos last week. The Broncos re-signed Gordon in the offseason and then proceeded to curiously not use him. Even though the Broncos had trouble scoring, especially near the goalline, they decided to keep Gordon on the bench. Every game, sad videos of Melvin Gordon on the sidelines would go viral. Gordon was also not quiet about his lack of playing time. He was eventually released and many wondered whether he would find a new team. It seems the Chiefs like what Gordon brings to the table and decided to sign him.
Great Move For The Chiefs
Gordon has always had a nose for the endzone in his time in the NFL (and in college for that matter). While his production has dropped since his first couple of years in the league, his scoring potential makes him valuable to any team. The Chiefs have one of the most prolific passing attacks in the league led by Patrick Mahomes. However, their run game often suffers especially near the goal line when the field is smaller. Gordon could be the answer the team has been looking for.
Wisconsin has had a long tradition of great RBs. It is great to see former Badgers Melvin Gordon get another chance with the Chiefs.
