It is a new era for the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison. Luke Fickell has brought an excitement to Madison that we haven’t seen in many years. Highlighted by multiple four-star athletes going into 2023, Fickell also brought in an offensive coordinator who wants to throw the ball. Something Wisconsin hasn’t done much of over the last three decades. What could make the excitement for the Wisconsin Badgers go even further? A new look, specifically, a “black out” look.
Badgers Players And Fans React To Alternate Uniform Idea
Mike Murphy on Twitter posted an incredible alternate uniform idea that is going viral on Twitter:
Mike Murphy commented on the post saying:
Kicking off 2023 with an @UnderArmour X @BadgerFootball“Blackout” design. RT if you think @CoachFick needs to bring these out in 2023! Thank you for supporting my graphic design work. Feat.

I have been begging for a black option for the football and hockey teams https://t.co/pV8pat67Hj

The basketball team got black jerseys so why not the football team? We need this to happen https://t.co/juTUNIscqj

The last time the Wisconsin Badgers football program wore alternate jerseys was in 2021. The Badgers wore them on Sept. 25, 2021 when they traveled to Chicago to take on Notre Dame in the Shamrock Series. This is what they looked like:
One thing is for sure, if the Wisconsin Badgers ever unveiled the black alternate uniforms, it would likely be well received by the fans. The Wisconsin Badgers will kick-off their season on September 2nd, 2023 against the Buffalo Bulls at Camp Randall Stadium.

Black uniforms is a bad idea. To me it Had a negative and dark connotation.
We are NOT Ohio State. No no no.
Going to black like Every other school, fallow the heard much? If you insist on changing, go with the Red alternate uniforms theyve used in the past, they looked great, especially the red helmets!
No No No!
We are not the University of Cincinnati. We are the University of Wisconsin. Our colors are Cardinal Red and White, not Black. Much easier for the Badgers quarterback who is passing the football to see receivers downfield wearing red and white, not black.
Enough with the clown costumes in college football. You can’t tell who is playing half the time.
This may be too much black in the uniforms. Keep the white helmet, black shirt and mix with black and white pants for special games. Add black, red white stripes and the team is ready to move forward into the new era.
I’m a Sparty fan (born n raised in Lansing)…. I’m a “Traditional” kind of guy so when MSU came out with Lime Green alternative Unies, I about puked and became a “Rodent fan” of the Weasels down the HWY…..realizing that’s impossible I can only buy a family sized bottle of TUMS…. Wisconsin is an old and honored nemesis with a classic uniform in the BIG…leave it alone !
P.S. the LIONS JUST GOT A 1st down….Lions 20/ Packers 16
See ya next season
