The Wisconsin football staff has kept close contact early on with a rising three-star linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class.
Dallas Brannon, a 2026 three-star linebacker from North Carolina, has been a rising prospect at the position within the 2026 recruiting class. The recruitment of Brannon truly started to heat up after the athlete had an exceptional season this past year, dominating on the football field and earning plenty of scholarship offers. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Brannon broke down why development is important to him, as well as what speaking with the Wisconsin football staff has been like.
Wisconsin Football Eyeing 2026 Three-Star Linebacker Dallas Brannon
The Wisconsin football staff has been digging through the 2026 recruiting class the find players who truly emulate the style of football they want to play. At the linebacker position, the staff traveled down to North Carolina to find a player that stands out in the film room.
2026 three-star linebacker Dallas Brannon has been one of the more exciting linebackers to watch in the 2026 recruiting class. Brannon currently holds offers from major programs such as USC, Tennessee, Miami, Ole Miss, and Michigan among plenty of others.
Brannon also holds a scholarship from the Wisconsin football staff, whom he has been in consistent contact with since the opening of the recruiting period. Defensive Coordinator Mike Tressel has spoken to Brannon, but the recruit states that he has primarily been in contact with Graduate Defensive Assistant Coach Tuf Borland.
Dallas Brannon: “Being Able to be Developed at the Highest Level is What I Am About”
For Brannon, playing collegiate football is not just something that has long been a goal, but also a stepping stone in his football career. Brannon wants to be the best of the best when it comes to being a linebacker, and he is willing to put the work in anywhere in order to make that happen. When asked about his goals in college, Brannon responded “I just want to be in a developmental program in all honesty.”
The Wisconsin football staff loves the attitude of Brannon and his goals for success on the field are truly contagious. The linebacker possesses a different level of agility that has allowed him to make plays other linebackers may struggle with. Along with his agility and athleticism, Brannon is also a student of the game who puts plenty of emphasis on learning and understanding defenses and his role in them.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Aiming to Develop Close Relationship With Brannon
For the Wisconsin football staff, developing a relationship with Brannon is step one in their recruiting plan for the athlete. Brannon cited communication during this process as a “blessing” and feels it is what opens up the most opportunities. However, what Brannon is truly focused on when moving along in the recruiting process is what a staff and program can do for him.
The recruit stated, “Scheme is important but being able to be developed at the highest level is what I’m about.” Brannon is focused on his development, and while other factors such as the quality and attitude of the staff matter, his ultimate goal of becoming the best linebacker trumps other recruiting interests.
