The Green Bay Packers elevated two cornerbacks before their Week 4 game against the Detroit Lions Thursday night. The Packers made the moves as Jaire Alexander (back) and Carrington Valentine (biceps) battle injuries.
Alexander and Valentine were listed as questionable to play the Lions on Wednesday’s injury report. The Packers’ elevations Thursday afternoon cast doubt about their availability to play.
The Green Bay Packers elevate two cornerbacks
According to a statement by the Packers, cornerbacks Corey Ballentine and Kiondre Thomas have been elevated in Week 4.
#Packers roster moves:
– T David Bakhtiari placed on injured reserve
– LB Kristian Welch signed to active roster
– CBs Corey Ballentine & Kiondre Thomas elevated for gameday https://t.co/tmdiepOhBm— Green Bay Packers (@packers) September 28, 2023
The Packers have not yet listed their inactives, so we don’t know for sure what Alexander’s and Valentine’s status will be on Thursday. But the elevations of two cornerbacks are concerning for Packers fans who were hoping to see one of the team’s best defenders go against a potent Lions offense.
