The Green Bay Packers ruled out three key starters against the Detroit Lions in Week 4. The Packers had several key starters battling injuries in a short turnaround from their Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints.
The Packers are hopeful Christian Watson and Aaron Jones can play. They would be an extra cushion for an offense about to play without a couple of key offensive linemen.
The Green Bay Packers ruled out three players against Detroit Lions
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Packers ruled out David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, and De’Vondre Campbell. Jones and Watson are questionable.
For #Lions vs #Packers:
— GB ruled out LT David Bakhtiari (knee), G Elgton Jenkins (knee) & LB De'Vondre Campbell (ankle), while RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) & WR Christian Watson (hamstring) are questionable.
— DET RB David Montgomery (thigh) and Taylor Decker are questionable.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) September 27, 2023
That’s the second week in a row Bakhtiari and Jenkins will not play a full game together. Bakhtiari has been out since his injury against the Chicago Bears in Week 1. Those are huge outs for the Packers.
The Packers were able to notch a win against the Saints with a shorthanded squad. But the comeback started after Derek Carr left the game. The Lions will present the most formidable challenge of the season for the Packers.
