After losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Conference Championship last season, the Cincinnati Bengals are now looking to bounce back with another Super Bowl run in 2023. Joe Burrow, who is now expected to be ready to start in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns after suffering a scary injury in preseason, is still set to lead the charge this year, but it goes without saying that the Bengals will need to surround him with as many weapons as they can.
Big Year Ahead for Irv Smith Jr.

The Bengals are taking a risk on Irv Smith Jr. this coming season. Injuries have played a major role in the former Alabama standout’s career and to date, he has yet to reach his full potential.
Cincinnati is hoping that the change in scenery is what Smith needs to finally live up to the lofty expectations. The 25-year-old, who signed a one-year deal with the Bengals this summer as a free agent, has shown flashes of brilliance throughout his career, making it clear that this man is capable of being a top-tier (?) tight end in the league. It’s just a matter of staying on the field for Smith.
Bengals Get TE Insurance Via Mo Alie-Cox Trade

While the Bengals also have the likes of Mitchell Wilcox and Drew Sample in their tight end rotation, it wouldn’t hurt to add a bit of an insurance policy in the case that Smith gets injured again this term.
Kenneth Teape of the NFL Analysis Network has proposed a trade scenario for the Bengals wherein they acquire Mo Alie-Cox from the Indianapolis Colts. The 29-year-old was reportedly placed on the trade block earlier this summer, which means that he could be available for the taking for Cincinnati.
Teape believes that a sixth-round pick would be enough to entice the Colts to part ways with Alie-Cox, who appears to have conceded the TE1 role to Kylen Granson after failing to capitalize on a starting role last season. He too could benefit from a change in scenery, and the Bengals could give him just that in a potential trade deal.
