The Chicago Cubs have been on a tear since the MLB All-Star break. As a result they have increased their playoff odds significantly in which Baseball Reference has their postseason chances currently at 90.8%. At this moment they currently have a 75-64 record and have a comfortable three and a half game cushion in the Wild Card race.
With all of their success a lot of things have had to go right. Let’s take a look at two post All-Star break statistics in which one is a team stat and the other is recognizing an individual player.
Chicago Cubs: Two spectacular post All-Star break statistics

The first thing that will be mentioned is the fact that the Cubs have 33 wins since the mid summer classic. Since that date this has them tied for the most victories. They are tied with two other teams in which the Los Angeles Dodgers and Baltimore Orioles have also managed to win this many games.
Secondly, Cody Bellinger has been the best run producer in the league since the All-Star break. His 55 RBI are the most by a large margin (+11, with Julio Rodriguez being next) and his 14 home runs are tied for the fourth most. Combine this with a .342/.374/.607 slash line and overall he has been one of the leagues best overall hitters.
At the time of this publication just 23 games remain in the regular season. The Cubs playoff chances look good, but their eyes are set on winning the National League Central division and hunting down the Milwaukee Brewers.
