The Milwaukee Bucks have fired their head coach, Adrian Griffin, after just 43 games and a 30-13 record.
The firing was believed to be made due to the Bucks’ defense ranking fairing in the bottom ten in the league, and most of the players losing faith in Griffin. The organization now will look for a veteran and experienced presence to lead the team instead.
Whats next?
At the top of the list of candidates for the next head coach of the Bucks, include Doc Rivers. Rivers has coached many playoff contending teams over the years and won an NBA championship with Boston in 2008. Rivers also played college basketball at Marquette so he is familiar with the area. Unfortunately to most, Rivers has been known of playoff meltdowns the last 15 years of coaching since Boston.
The Bucks will have assistant coach, Joe Prunty take over as the interim coach in the mean time. Prunty has been an interim head coach two other times in the NBA, once with the Hawks and once with the Bucks after they fired Jason Kidd in 2018. Time will tell what this championship or bust team will do next.
