Brice Turang, one of the Milwaukee Brewers highly regarded “freshman“, had an incredible moment during the teams home opener on Monday afternoon. During the fifth inning he stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and mashed a 417 foot grand slam for his first career home run.

Throughout the history of the Milwaukee Brewers, Brice Turang is the fourth player in franchise history whose first career home run went for a grand slam.
The other players who hit a grand slam for their first career home run includes Bill Spiers in 1989, Tim Unroe in 1997, and Shaun Marcum in 2011. Yes, starting pitcher Shaun Marcum hit a grand slam on July 4, 2011 against the Arizona Diamondbacks for his first career home run.

In attendance for Brice Turang’s special moment was his parents. His father Brian, who was a former MLB player that played two years in the big leagues for the Seattle Mariners, talked about how he had never hit a grand slam in the Major Leagues.

It’s been a great start to the season for rookie Brice Turang. While he’s logged just 10 at-bats on the young season, during that time he has collected five hits, drawn three walks, and stolen two bases. His future is very bright and he will be an exciting player to watch on the Milwaukee Brewers.
