It was an exciting weekend in Cleveland as the Brewers battled the Guardians. Here is a complete recap of the series and what to expect next from the Brew Crew.
Brewers vs. Guardians Game One:

Wade Miley was on the bump for Milwaukee facing off against Cleveland’s Shane Bieber. Miley was stellar through six shutout innings, Peter Strzlecki was the only Milwaukee pitcher to allow a run in this game.
Milwaukee put on their hitting shoes against Shane Bieber. Bieber tossed just five innings and allowed four earned runs. Willy Adames ran the show in this one, he got the party started in the first inning with an RBI single. After that, Milwaukee remained quiet until the fifth inning when Willy Adames struck again with a three-run home run. Milwaukee added on in the sixth inning with a pair of RBI singles courtesy of Joey Wiemer and Christian Yelich before the ninth inning when Willy Adames continued his big game by clubbing another home run. Adrian Houser and Matt Bush sealed off the final two innings allowing Milwaukee to pick up the win in game one.

Freddy Peralta got the ball for Milwaukee in game two facing off against Cleveland’s Tanner Bibee. Peralta put together a rather pedestrian start, the right-hander allowed three earned runs in five innings of work. Milwaukee had trouble getting things going offensively, Tanner Bibee allowed just two runs (one earned) in six innings of work. Both runs came courtesy of Christian Yelich, in the first inning Yelich scored on an error, and in the third inning, Yelich scored again on William Contreras’ RBI single. Milwaukee was held off the scoreboard the rest of the game and dropped game two.
Brewers vs. Guardians Game Three:

Milwaukee was able to get the job done with their bats in this one. The scoring got started in the third inning with RBI doubles from Christian Yelich and Owen Miller, as well as an RBI single courtesy of Rowdy Tellez. Milwaukee added one more in the fourth inning with a sac fly off the bat of Joey Wiemer. The game remained tied at 4-4 and went to extra innings, Owen Miller got the last laugh will a game-winning RBI double.
Takeaways:
Overall this was a solid series for Milwaukee. The pitching was mediocre outside of game one but the bats were able to pick up the slack. Let’s hope Milwaukee can take this momentum into their next series against the New York Mets.
