The Milwaukee Brewers have signed Veteran Julio Teheran to address their injured starting pitching. The move was announced on Tuesday before game two of the Brewers series against the Astros.
Julio Teheran agrees to Brewers deal

Teheran is a very well-established major league pitcher. The right-hander has a 3.80 ERA and 4.34 FIP in 240 major league appearances along with being named to two all-star teams. However the past few years haven’t been pretty, Teheran hasn’t appeared in a major league game since 2021 when he was shut down with a shoulder injury. After recovering from the injury Teheran spent all of 2022 in Independent Leagues and has spent the start of this year pitching for the Padres AAA affiliate, in 8 starts he had a 5.62 ERA.
It’s clear Teheran is past his prime but the Brewers needed some starting pitching help with Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley, Eric Lauer, and Aaron Ashby all being injured. Hopefully, Teheran can recapture some of his old self and give the Brewers some quality starts.
