Could the Brewers replace Hunter Renfroe with an All-Star?
The Milwaukee Brewers need to replace a big bat this off-season. Brewers owner Mark Attanasio hinted that major moves would be made before the 2023 season. The Brewers have made a few, including trading away outfielder Hunter Renfroe. The Brewers will need to replace Renfroe to stay competitive next season.
Currently, it’s expected that the Brewers would rely on their prospects to fill Renfroe’s void. But the team could look for another veteran who could help jumpstart the offense if they plan on contending for the playoffs in 2023.
Andy McCullough, a writer for The Athletic, wrote about potential free-agent deals for each MLB team. They suggested the Brewers might try and go for an All-Star outfielder to replace Hunter Renfroe next season.
Since Milwaukee has decided to trade Hunter Renfroe, who is projected to earn $11.2 million in arbitration by MLB Trade Rumors, the team could take a less expensive flier on a far more volatile outfielder in Gallo. He was an All-Star in 2021 with Texas. Since then, though, he has struck out 268 times and homered only 33 times.
Gallo is a seasoned veteran who has played in the MLB since 2015. He’s hit 177 home runs in that time. Gallo is a two-time All-Star outfielder. He’s hot when he’s hot. When Gallo goes cold, he goes cold. Gallo has a batting average of .160 for the 2022 season. He also had 19 home runs last year. The Brewers will have to decide if his production with the big hit is worth his strikeout number for 2023.

gALLO…LOL….Pry Cedric Mullins from the Orioles. They have too many outfielder prospects. Should take that much.
