If you haven’t been paying attention to the Brewers’ dugout, the home run bell has had some company the past week. The Brewers have started to wear the Infinity Gauntlet after hitting a home run. Apparently, just ringing the bell was getting boring for the Crew.

If you’re not a Marvel fan, you might be confused about the giant, golden, gem-encrusted glove. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Infinity Gauntlet is made for Thanos by the King of the Dwarves. It harnesses the power of the six infinity stones, giving its user an incredible amount of power. In the movies, the Infinity Gauntlet and the infinity stones have the power to allow their user to do almost anything they want. They’re a central part of the plots of Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Origin Story
The Gauntlet’s first appearance was on June 23. Willy Adames used it to ring the Home Run Bell in the dugout after knocking a solo shot out of the park. The Brewers went on to win that game 6-4 over division rivals St. Louis.
In a post-game interview, Adames credited Hunter Renfroe with bringing the gauntlet to the dugout. Adames went on to say that “it’s powerful- we’re trying to be powerful”.
Renfroe didn’t play that game due to a left calf strain but was spotted wearing the gauntlet in the dugout.

The Gauntlet has even made its way to the Bally Sports Brewers Live pre-game show!

Personally, I hope the Brewers should keep the Infinity Gauntlet around. Not only have they won 5 of their last 6 games since introducing it, but it’s also fun. It’s refreshing to see the camaraderie in the dugout as a player puts on the gauntlet and walks through a crowd of their supportive teammates to ring the bell. This celebration seems to really represent this Brewers team and how much fun they are to support.
And, hopefully, the Brewers can channel the power of the Infinity Gauntlet to get some more All-Star votes in addition to wins. After all, reality can be whatever we want it to be.
