MLB All-Star Voting is approaching the end of its first phase. Phase one ends on June 30. Following this, voting will re-start and from July 5-July 8 a second round of voting will be used to select the starters. Unfortunately, as of June 21 no Milwaukee Brewer position players were leading their respective position.
Fans are unable to vote for pitchers. Pitchers earn the honor of being selected to the All-Star game through a combination of player ballot selections and choices made by the Commissioner’s Office.

Which Brewer position players could become All-Stars for the first time?
If voting ended today, the Brewers would not have a position player in the all-star game. However, players can choose to opt out of the game and then replacement players are chosen. Last year, Omar Narvaez replaced Yadier Molina on the All-Star roster. While Narvaez has been to an All-Star game previously, he could be a strong candidate to fill in as a replacement again this year.
One player to consider who has never been an All-Star is shortstop Willy Adames. Adames currently trails Trae Turner, Dansby Swanson, Francisco Lindor, Tommy Edman, and others in All-star voting. However, Adames is the league leader in home runs as a shortstop, so he could be a good replacement candidate.
Other Brewer position players who are looking to become first time All-Stars include Hunter Renfroe and Rowdy Tellez. Both are on the outside looking in when it comes to votes and are long shots to become All-Stars, even as replacements.
Which Brewer pitchers could become All-Stars for the first time?
Last year the Brewers had Corbin Burnes, Josh Hader, Brandon Woodruff, and Freddy Peralta all representing the team at the mid summer classic. This year Corbin Burnes and Josh Hader seem like locks, but there are a few other pitchers who could be elected to the All-Star game.
Surprisingly, Devin Williams has never been an All-Star. During his breakout 2020 season there was no All-Star game and in 2021 he got off to a slow start. This year he is having a phenomenal start to the season and stands a very great chance at becoming a first time All-Star.
Of the other starters, Eric Lauer is having a solid season. After his first 10 starts he had a 2.38 ERA before his ERA jumped to 3.36 after an eight earned run appearance. The National League has a lot of good pitchers, but Lauer could get in as a replacement. Freddy Peralta made the All-Star game last year as a replacement.
This year’s All-Star game will be played in Los Angeles on July 19. It seems likely that the Brewers will have a few pitchers representing them. If they are lucky, perhaps one position player will make it, but odds are it would be because a different player opted out.
