The Green Bay Packers got some much needed news today at practice. They have been hit with the injury bug seemingly all year. From offense to defense, the Packers lineup has been shaken up week to week. Today, however, the Packers got back two key players at practice that would certainly make a difference going forward. ILB De’Vondre Campbell and WR Romeo Doubs were on the practice field today.

All-Pro ILB De’Vondre Campbell has made an immediate impact since joining the Green Bay Packers. Last season he earned his first ever All-Pro honors and it made a difference on the defense. Campbell spent 4 years with the Falcons and 1 year with the Cardinals before coming to the Packers. In the 2021 season he accumulated 146 tackles (102 solo) which ranked 7th in the league. He also added on 2 interceptions, 5 passes deflected, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. Campbell was an elite tackler missing only 4 tackles during the whole season according to PFF. This season hasn’t been as spectacular as he only has 26 tackles so far and has struggled with missed tackles at times. Injury has certainly played a role in those decreased stats, either way, getting Campbell back on the field will be big for this defense. It is still unclear if he will play Sunday, but this is good news moving forward.
The other player the Packers got back was their young sensation Romeo Doubs. From the start of the season many fans predicted Doubs to make an impact on the field. Those fans were right as his breakout game came in week three against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finished that game with eight receptions (on eight targets) for 73 yards and a touchdown. So far this year he has 31 receptions for 314 yards and three scores. More importantly, he has seemed to earn the trust of Aaron Rodgers. While it is also unclear if Doubs will be able to play Sunday Vs the Bears, this has been a long time coming for the rookie wide receiver.
