Breaking news from the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have elevated outside linebacker La’Darius Hamilton from the practice squad to the gameday roster for week 7 against the Washington Commanders. Therefore, this move means the Packers will have five outside linebackers available for Sunday’s game. The other four linebackers active are Rashan Gary, Preston Smith, Johnathon Garvin and rookie Kingsley Enagbare. Unfortunately, Rashan Gary is dealing with a toe injury so Hamilton might be needed as a backup plan. Although it is also speculated that the elevation of Hamilton could be strictly for use on special teams only.

Who is Packers LB La’Darius Hamilton?
La’Darius Hamilton is currently in his second season with the Green Bay Packers. He went undrafted in 2020. After going undrafted, Hamilton was claimed by the Dallas Cowboys where he spent the entire season on their practice squad. On May 5, 2021 Hamilton was waived by the Cowboys. But, the very next day he was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, never making their active roster. Now fast forward to September 17, 2021 which is when Green Bay signed Hamilton to their practice squad. During his six career games as a member of the Packers, Hamilton has only recorded three tackles, seeing 64 total snaps.
