The Wisconsin Badgers will have a whole new recruiting plan over the next few years. The days of Paul Chryst and Jim Leonhard will be over. Losing Jim Leonhard isn’t going to be easy to recover from. He has been a staple for Wisconsin’s defense for years. That being said, the old way of doing things in Madison clearly wasn’t working. Year after year the Badgers would maybe fight for a Big Ten West Title, only to lose in the Big Ten Championship Game. Sometimes in an embarrassing fashion. Going forward Wisconsin could become an offensive powerhouse team, something that is needed in NCAA to win meaningful games. Today Wisconsin got much better
OT Peyton Lange Commits To Wisconsin
Peyton Lange is a massive 6-9, 340-pound Offensive Tackle from Minneapolis, MN. Lange will be a welcome addition to a University known for its outstanding offensive lines. Wisconsin has often been deemed “OLU.” Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell has been a busy man the past two weeks since his hiring. Not only has he begun the process of finalizing his 2023 coaching staff, but he has also jumped right in on recruiting and the transfer portal in an attempt to transform the roster.
Luke Fickell stated during his introductory press conference that he intends to prioritize Wisconsin and the surrounding states in recruiting. Specifically, he mentioned a 300-mile radius. He backed that up over the weekend, spending his first few days on the road meeting with local recruits and high school coaches. Fickell made stops at several noteworthy high schools in the state, especially those with high-level prospects in the 2024 recruiting class such as Catholic Memorial, Middleton, Mukwanago, and Waunakee.
Peyton Lange also had an offer from St. Thomas. He uses his weight well and will be able to fine-tune his physical traits during his time as a Badger. Here is his official announcement to the Wisconsin Badgers:
