Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin coaching staff have been hard at work since he was announced as the next head coach. This has certainly been on full display over the last few days as Wisconsin landed big commitments from two former Cincinnati commits. Toady, it was reported that the Wisconsin Badgers are now hosting a major transfer portal quarterback. Nick Evers from the University of Oklahoma.
Nick Evers Visiting Wisconsin Today
Former Oklahoma signal caller Nick Evers is on campus Tuesday, Badger247 has reported. Nick Ever posted this on Twitter December 3rd:
“There are no mistakes in God’s plan,” Evers said in a statement. “The ability to truly compete is all anyone can ask, so I take with me the spirit of humbleness and growth over the past year in hopes to both showcase my ability & make even greater impacts both on and off the field. With that said, I will be entering the transfer portal.”
Evers’ younger brother, Drew Evers, was also on campus last month for UW’s regular season finale against Minnesota. The family has ties to the Madison area. Evers is a former All-American Bowl quarterback and was the nation’s eighth-ranked signal caller in the class of 2022. He will have four years of eligibility remaining at his next school. This would be massive for Wisconsin.
Who Is Nick Evers?
Nick Evers was a mid-year enrollee at Oklahoma and a consensus four-star prospect. He was touted as the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the class by Rivals, the No. 7 pocket-passer QB by ESPN, the No. 7 QB by On3 and the No. 8 QB by 247Sports. Evers ranked the No. 77 player in the country by On3. He was also rated as the 17th-best prospect in the state of Texas by On3. Evers threw for nearly 5,000 yards and 44 touchdowns and rushed for 18 TDs over his junior and senior seasons in high school. He also rushed for 648 yards his senior year. He chose Oklahoma over Auburn, Florida and others after originally committing to Florida. This type of commitment would be game changing for the Wisconsin program. This is exactly the type of recruitment is was Luke Fickell brings to Wisconsin.
