Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Believes Team Can Win the Super Bowl

The Green Bay Packers improved to 9-3 on the season with their convincing 30-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving night. Despite the win and their impressive overall record, Green Bay holds just the sixth seed in the NFC Playoffs picture. The Detroit Lions, at 11-1, are the top seed in the conference while the 9-2 Minnesota Vikings, who currently hold the tiebreaker over Green Bay, are in second place in the division and hold the fifth seed.

Regardless of the standings, there should be little doubt that the Packers are one of the best teams in the NFC, and arguably the NFL as a whole.

They are playing so well, in fact, that one of their former wide receivers, himself a Super Bowl Champion, believes they can go all the way.

Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver James Jones Believes His Former Team Can Win the Super Bowl

Former Packers wide receiver James Jones has made a career in sports media since his NFL days came to end nearly a decade ago. Of course, he is remembered by Packers fans for being on their Super Bowl XLV winning team and for leading the NFL in touchdown receptions (14) in 2012.

Now he is one of the hosts of the show “From the Athlete’s Perspective” on Fox Sports. On Friday’s show, he stated that this year’s Packers team is so good, they just might end up winning it all:

“This is the Green Bay Packers that can go all the way to the Super Bowl.”

“The Green Bay Packers have my attention, they should have everybody’s attention. The Packers are a really good football team.

“And the Packers are a really good football team because, number one, they play really good defense. Number two, they’re going through number eight, and if you don’t know him, his name is Josh Jacobs.

“And you have a quarterback that can throw the football with the best of them with a lot of young talent around him.

“This is a really good Green Bay Packers football team. But I believe the game they played yesterday was the best game they played all season. Jordan Love is healthy. They played really good defense. The offense ran the ball well and they threw the ball well.

“Look, you were playing a quality like this. We have been like this,” Jones said as he made a roller coaster motion with his arms. “So it’s tough if you don’t follow the Green Bay Packers to say that this team is truly truly legit. But watching the game yesterday, this is the Green Bay Packers that can go all the way to the Super Bowl.

“Run the football. Quarterback is playing really good football. Really good defense. They can accomplish what they want.

“But the Packers are the real deal with Jordan Love being 100% healthy now, after dealing with the groin and the knee injury.”

    Hopefully Jones is correct.
