NBA Insider Shams Charania suggested a few days ago that a Khris Middleton return could for the Milwaukee Bucks could happen after the Thanksgiving.
Fans must have not said enough thanks because they failed to manifest his return as Doc Rivers announced that Khash Money will not play yet against the Washington Wizards.
“He’s not available tomorrow, but he’s available soon, we hope,” the coach told reporters a day before they return to action.
He clarified though that there is no setback when it comes to the three-time All-Star’s recovery.
“He’s progressing. I’m going to keep saying it. You can ask as many questions as you want, it’s not going to make him come back faster.”
When pressed further about Middleton’s availability by next week when the Bucks head for a busier week, Rivers said that it does not come into play when it comes to how they will assess their player’s “playability” in terms of health.
“That doesn’t matter for when a guy is coming back or not,” he said. “When he’s back and ready he’s going to play. It doesn’t matter if we have five in a row. We won’t play him all five but he’ll play.”
Khris Middleton return has been cleared already
The Bucks are probably just making sure that Middleton will be back 100 percent healthy and they have no immediate reason to force him into the rotation.
Charania said last week that he has been medically cleared already.
Rivers’ latest update matches the NBA reporter’s words about Middleton from four days ago. The Wizards aren’t that much of a concern, too.
[He intends to return] when he’s fully right and feels that he’s going to be able to make an impact, like we know Khris Middleton can, when he is fully healthy,” Charania said in his show.
Indeed, Middleton may not change that much for the Bucks who are surging right now with five straight wins, 7-1 in their last eight.
Regardless though, the Bucks will need him in the long run, especially if they make the playoffs as they have not been fully healthy ever since their 2021 NBA championship run.
