Badgers Hockey Almost Sweeps Awards
Each week, the WCHA gives out awards for the best Forward, Defense, Goalie, and Rookie to recognize outstanding performances, and this Badgers hockey trio truly deserved that honor after their 16-1 and 6-0 drubbing of Lindenwood to open the season.
Lacey Eden took home the Forward of the Week. It was her second WCHA honor. She tallied five points in the sweep of Lindenwood and currently leads the nation in goals scored. She posted her first hat trick for Badgers hockey during the 16-1 win.
Caroline Harvey collected her own five-point start but collected one goal and four assists. Her +11 plus/minus rating tops the WCHA, though five other teammates follow her in the rankings.
Cassie Hall is in her first season for Badgers hockey, and she’s off to an impressive start. The freshman tallied four goals in one game, making her the seventh player to pull off that feat in NCAA history. She ranked second in the nation in goals scored after the weekend play. Hall was also able to earn the WCHA Performance of the Week with her four goals.
