On the last day of April Brewers reliever Jake Cousins pitched in the ninth inning against the Cubs.  It took him 30 pitches to escape that inning in which he eventually struck out the side.  He did leave a bases loaded jam as he got into that position by giving up a hit and walking two batters. To begin the 2022 season, MLB teams have been allowed to carry 28 players on their active roster.  This came about due to a shortened spring training and increased concern for player health.  However, this change was meant to be temporary.  Starting May 2, teams will have to decrease their rosters to 26. Following a 6-5 victory against the Cardinals on Easter Sunday, Josh Hader closed out the game and became the third.  He now joins John Axford and Dan Plesac as a member of the 100 save club. Back in March, Brewers infielder Luis Urias injured his quad during the second game of spring training.  At the time the injury was thought to be minor.  There additionally was optimism that he could possibly be ready to go by opening day.  Unfortunately that has not been the case. On Tuesday, manager Craig Counsell provided an update as to where Urias is currently at in the rehab process. Slow progress for Luis Urías, Craig Counsell said today.
