The Wisconsin football staff has received positive news regarding one of the best recruits in Minnesota for the 2025 class.
Abu Tarawallie, a three-star 2025 defensive lineman from Minnesota, is currently ranked as the second-overall player in his home state. The Wisconsin football staff has loved everything they have seen from Tarawallie thus far, both on the field and off the field. The powerful defensive lineman just recently cut down his recruiting list to four schools, and kept the Badgers among the programs still in the mix.
Wisconsin Football Makes the Cut for Three-Star Defensive Lineman Abu Tarawallie

In a surprising announcement ahead of his official visits, the second-overall ranked recruit in Minnesota announced his top four programs. Abu Tarawallie, a three-star defensive lineman, currently holds eight scholarship offers despite being a top recruit in-state. Tarawallie has been an under-the-radar player thus far in the 2025 class and has not received the attention from major programs he truly deserves.
Tarawallie has announced Kansas State, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin football as his top four programs. The defensive lineman also held offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Penn State as well but only showed interest in the Cyclones.
For Wisconsin Football, Tarawallie Could Add Physicality, Size to Position of Need

While Tarawallie has not received an incredible amount of attention from major programs, he certainly has the size and skill to succeed at the next level. The defensive lineman comes in at 6-foot-4-inches, 275-pounds and packs a serious punch in his power moves on the field. Tarawallie loves to play physical football, which is exactly why position coach EJ Whitlow and Defensive Coordinator Mike Tressel have made the defensive lineman a priority.
Tarawallie plays a position of need for the Badgers, and despite plenty of bodies along the line, the Wisconsin football staff has yet to unleash another strong lineman. Tarawallie could be a serious playmaker for the Badgers in the future considering the way that he plays football. The defensive lineman is not going to back down, or swap through pass rush moves until one works.
The three-star defender loves to power his way through the offensive line to create chaos behind the line.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Land Tarawallie Over Minnesota, Michigan State?

Currently, Wisconsin is going up against Michigan State, Minnesota, and Kansas State who all have pretty solid staff connections with Tarawallie. The Badgers staff will not have an easy run at the defensive lineman given the other teams involved, but they will have their chance during his upcoming official visit.
The Wisconsin football staff has an official visit set-up with Tarawallie for the 21st of June. The defensive lineman will visit Michigan State first, then stop at Minnesota for another official visit before coming to Madison. Wisconsin will need to have a good visit to make-up some ground in the recruitment of Tarawallie as the defensive lineman has had a whopping seven logged visits with the Golden Gophers.
