BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers Has Officially Spoken To AFC Team Regarding Trade

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers may actually be on a crash course toward a breakup this off-season.  Aaron Rodgers has not made a decision yet, or at least one that has been shared with the public. Regardless, trade rumors have swirled regarding his 2023 team all offseason.  Now those trade rumors are certainly heating up after Aaron Rodgers has reportedly spoken with an AFC team about a potential trade.

Per Trey Wingo and Ari Meirov:

Per sources. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets had conversations today. While nothing is imminent Rodgers is open to the idea of going to NY.
The Packers allowing Rodgers to speak to the Jets would seem to confirm they’re ready to turn the page to Jordan Love. They just need to get the green light from Rodgers. Rodgers has always been Plan A for the Jets.
Aaron Rodgers said on January 24th: “I’m open to all honest and direct conversations. If they (Green Bay) feel like it’s in the best interest of the team, so be it. That wouldn’t offend me. It wouldn’t make me feel like a victim. I wouldn’t have any animosity toward the team.”
The New York Jets have certainly been at the center of Aaron Rodgers trade conversations this off-season.  Earlier this off-season  the New York Jets made a move that many thought was directly linked to Aaron Rodgers.  According to multiple reports, former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was hired by the Jets as their next offensive coordinator.  Not only that, but New York Jets Owner Woody Johnson has stated in the past he would give up “Multiple Firsts” or Aaron Rodgers
    Per Dov Kleiman:
The Packers will want at least two 1st round picks in a trade for QB Aaron Rodgers, Peter King shares in his column. King adds that Jets owner Woody Johnson would happily pay that price. The question remains if Rodgers even wants to play for NY.
That makes both the New York Jets Owner and General Manager on the same page about trying to acquire the four-time MVP quarterback.  It is important to note that Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract. The Packers don’t need his direct permission to trade him, at least not contractually.  Also the Packers will not be trading Aaron Rodgers within the NFC Conference.  It has been reported that they “will explore” the idea of trading the QB exclusively to the AFC, per Adam Schefter.
This would certainly be a massive move by both the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets.  The Jets have six draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.  They are:
    • Round 1, Pick 13 overall
    • Round 2, Pick 43 overall
    • Round 3, Pick 74 overall
    • Round 4, Pick 112 overall
    • Round 5, Pick 145 overall
    • Round 6, Pick 185 overall

They certainly have the draft capital to put together a package for Aaron Rodgers.
