Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb is no longer interested in playing on the gridiron. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cobb is joining the SEC Network as a college football studio analyst. Before Randall Cobb joined the Packers in 2011, he played college football at the University of Kentucky.
Cobb did not officially announce his retirement yet from the NFL however. This is a good thing that he will be in the studio for the SEC this fall. Randall Cobb played in the NFL for 13 seasons and 10 of those seasons were with the Green Bay Packers.

In his NFL career, he had 7,624 yards receiving and 54 touchdown receptions. Cobb was a very good player in his NFL career and he could wind up in the Packers ring of honor one day.

Cobb is always going to be remembered for that touchdown reception by Packers fans against the Bears during the 2013 season. It occurred in Week 17 when they won the NFC North Title. The unfortunate part was that the Green Bay Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card round the next week.

However, it felt inevitable that Randall Cobb was not going to be playing football ever again. Cobb told Katie Callahan of ESPN about joining the SEC Network in the fall:
“I am incredibly excited to be coming home to the SEC with this new role. The level of greatness this conference provides year after year is unmatched – I cannot wait return to the conference family with this SEC Network crew.”
This is a huge get for the SEC Network. Congrats to him on a wonderful career and may he do well on his next journey in life.
