Aaron Rodgers played 18 seasons at Lambeau Field. When the Green Bay Packers traded him to the New York Jets, it made it much less likely that Rodgers would ever play against the team let alone in Green Bay. However, this season has played out differently than many had predicted and there is a real possibility the MVP quarterback could make his return to Lambeau in 2024.

Aaron Rodgers Return To Lambeau Field In 2024?
If we look at the Packers’ opponents for 2024 there is one that is highly important for this discussion. There is an unnamed AFC East team that is coming to Green Bay in 2024. How is that team determined? They will play the team that finishes in the same place as they do i.e. the first-place team plays the opposite first-place team and so on and so forth. Currently, the Jets and Packers are in third in their respective divisions. The Jets fell to 4-5 and are far ahead of the Patriots but solidly behind the Bills and Dolphins. The Packers are well behind the Lions and Vikings but only a half-game up on the Bears.
Who Messes Up The Matchup?
Right now, the Packers are the ones that could potentially mess it up. While I think they are a better team than the Bears, Chicago has the easier schedule thanks to finishing last in the division last year. The next three games for the Packers are against the Chargers, Lions, and Chiefs meaning there is a real possibility this team is 3-9. The late matchup between the Bears and Packers could determine whether a reunion in Lambeau happens.
I’m of the opinion that it would be really cool to have Aaron Rodgers come back to Lambeau Field. Each team seems happy with their direction so it likely will not be a bitter reunion. It is another subplot to watch in the second half of the season for fans.
