The Green Bay Packers are going to have some tough decisions to make this off-season. With the way the 2022 NFL season has gone so far it seems like nothing is off the table. Trading Aaron Rodgers may seem crazy to some. However, to others, it could make a ton of sense. If Green Bay decides trading Aaron Rodgers is best for the franchise, one analyst says that New Orleans would be the ideal landing spot.
Aaron Rodgers Named In Trade To New Orleans Saints
Kenneth Teape of NFL Analysis Network named Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade this coming off-season.
Given the weapons in place, New Orleans has all of the pieces for a quarterback to succeed. It would be a welcome change for Rodgers, who watched his two best wide receivers leave this past offseason and very little be done to replace their production.
He likely has some good seasons ahead of him still and the situation with the Saints could be an advantageous one. What could it cost to land Rodgers? It certainly wouldn’t be cheap and New Orleans would have to get creative given the draft compensation that they still owe the Philadelphia Eagles from their trade during the 2022 NFL Draft.
Proposed Trade:
New Orleans Saints Receive:
- QB Aaron Rodgers
Green Bay Packers Receive:
- 2025 First-Round Draft Pick
- 2026 First-Round Draft Pick
- 2023 Third-Round Draft Pick
- 2023 Fourth Round Draft Pick
- 2024 Third-Round Draft Pick
- 2024 Fourth Round Draft Pick
There would have to be some serious salary cap hoops to jump through with Aaron Rodgers’ contract. Something like this would require a lot of adjustments on both sides. However, something like this could set Green Bay up for the next phase of their franchise while giving New Orleans a chance to win now. Green Bay currently sits at 3-6 nine weeks into the 2022 NFL season. If their season ends just as rough as it has begun, a trade could be imminent
