Aaron Rodgers is still a member of the Packers
There has been much speculation Aaron Rodgers would be traded to the New York Jets this weekend. The Jets have contacted the Green Bay Packers regarding a Rodgers trade. It would make sense the Jets would want a trade deal finalized before the start of free agency this week.
Teams cannot sign an unrestricted free agent until Wednesday. However, teams can negotiate to start Monday. Rodgers remains a Packers quarterback as of this publishing. And the longer he stays with the Packers into this week, the more likely he will remain in Green Bay for next fall.
Rodgers recently liked a Tweet Sunday that sent shockwaves around the NFL world. As Dov Kleiman pointed out, it regarded Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas saying teammates have Rodgers’ phone number, so they have no need to send videos on social media asking for Rodgers to be their quarterback next season.

Rodgers appears to agree with Douglas that Packers players want him in Green Bay and are communicating that to him. Some people on Twitter thought Rodgers like meant he was leaning towards staying in Green Bay.
Rodgers coming back for sure. https://t.co/cx25KrMpuF

Aaron Rodgers like has nothing to do with his decision. After all, Douglas’ message is about Rodgers wanting to be in Green Bay. It’s about how his teammates feel about him continuing to play as a Packer. The best indicator so far that Rodgers will be in Green Bay next season is the simple fact that he hasn’t been traded ahead of the free-agency pre-negotiating period. At least yet.
