Aaron Rodgers: Former Teammate John Kuhn Offers Differing Opinion on Quarterback’s Future

Aaron Rodgers news about his upcoming decision on his future in the NFL has dominated headlines ever since the Green Bay Packers lost to the Detroit Lions in Week 18. The speculation has gone from whether or not he will return to what team the Packers may trade him to. Now, Green Bay is not even the betting favorite to have Rodgers on the roster next year. Today on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers revealed that he is going on a “darkness retreat” where he will be in solitude for four days and nights in complete darkness. According to him, he feels that he will have a much clearer idea of what he wants to do after that experience.

Many around the NFL feel like he wants to be back, especially in Green Bay, so that he can win that coveted second Super Bowl. His former teammate John Kuhn, however, has a different opinion on all the recent Aaron Rodgers news and discussion.

John Kuhn on Aaron Rodgers News: Thinks No. 12 Is Content

John Kuhn hosts the show “Nine 2 Noon” on 97.3 The Game along with former Wisconsin Badgers basketball star Brian Butch. During their show on Tuesday, Kuhn shared a different opinion of how No. 12 may feel than that touted by the mainstream media in this Aaron Rodgers news cycle:

“The Packers, how about this: they went from the favorites, just because of this weekend, just because of what Davante Adams said, and then with what Davante Adams doubled down on saying, and Aaron Rodgers saying ‘we’re just having a little bit of fun,’ just because of that, the Packers went from -110 to +600. They are down to a 14.3% chance of Aaron Rodgers going back there to be the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers.

“That’s per the Vegas odds. I don’t think he’s going to get traded to the Raiders for a couple of reasons. I acknowledge Davante Adams being out there is nice. I acknowledge being out on the west coast, he’d probably be able to golf a little more out there and maintain his handicap during football season.

“The more I hear him talk, I can’t envision him going to New York. I don’t think he wants to end his Packer career the same way Brett Favre did. I don’t think he wants to go play with Josh McDaniels in Vegas. Even if Davante is out there, I don’t think Aaron wants a Patriot disciple to be the head coach of his team.

“I just think, you know, he’s kind of content and at peace finishing up here in Green Bay even if it doesn’t mean getting a Super Bowl. That’s just the impression I’m getting.”

Of course, there is only one person who truly knows what Aaron Rodgers is thinking, that is Rodgers himself. However, it is notable that Kuhn spent nine seasons sharing a locker room with Rodgers for nine years. One would have to think that his view/opinion of what Rodgers may or may not be thinking carries more weight than the rumors spread by NFL “insiders” covering the Aaron Rodgers news cycle.
