The odds are stacked against Aaron Jones and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. They will need a successful game plan to upset the Dallas Cowboys. This will have to be backed by Aaron Jones and the ground attack of the Packers.

A Good Run Game Travels in the NFL

It has been proven in the past, sometimes a pass heavy offense can struggle on the road in the playoffs. The loud crowd can interfere with play callings. Some players could run the wrong routes because they didn’t hear the play call. Errors like this can lose a football game. When it comes to the run game, this is usually not the case. A good ground and pound offense will control the clock and the crowd noise. Nothing is more demoralizing when a home defense can’t stop the run. For a young team like the Packers, getting the run game started can take the pressure of Jordan Love and the receivers. Aaron Jones is the most playoff experienced player on the roster and should get at least 15-20 touches in the game.

Aaron Jones can Help Keep Cowboys Offense Off the Field

When playing the Dallas Cowboys, the thing you fear the most is their high powered offense. It is no secret that the Packers defense has not been consistent this year and with Jaire Alexander possibly out this could get ugly. So it is very important for the Packers offense to stay on the field. Controlling the clock will allow less time for Dak Prescott to operate and will ease the pressure of the Green Bay defense. Aaron Jones will need to be successful in the run game to do this. Cowboys rush defense is middle of the pack this year while their pass defense has been explosive. Aaron Jones has to try to exploit that weakness. This also force game changer Micah Parsons to focus on the run game and less on the quarterback.

If Aaron Jones can get the run game going early it will help set up Jordan Love for success. This offense can get very creative on the play action. Jordan Love had an electric end to the season. If he could have a clean pocket and play action opportunity he would surely shine. Forcing the Dallas defense to adjust to Aaron Jones running ability will give receivers a lot more one on one opportunity and Jordan Love has looked magical with throwing on the run this year. Getting Jaylen Reed open in space due to the play action could give the Packers big play ability. When you make big plays out of the play action game, you are lining yourself up for success. It won’t be easy but it would make a world of difference.

Aaron Jones had three 100 plus yard rushing games to end the season. The Green Bay Packers must ride his hot hand throughout the playoffs if they want to be road warriors and make a deep run in the playoffs.
