“When Keisean Nixon followed Rich Bisaccia from Las Vegas to Green Bay, he was excited about the possibility of playing with future hall-of-fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Nixon, a self-proclaimed introvert, didn’t immediately bond with the team–that’s when Rodgers stepped in. Rodgers approached Nixon, inquiring why he was so uptight. When Nixon took offense, Rodgers went in for a good old-fashioned embrace. Keisean Nixon’s reaction was to shove Rodgers away. Rodgers being cool, calm, and collected, replied, “Just bring it in,” and that’s when Nixon let down his guard and went with it. “It felt good,” Nixon said, “I needed it, and we’ve been cool since.”

Keisean Nixon assumed Amari Rodgers‘ job as the primary return specialist after week ten, and he’s flourished in the role. Nixon is averaging 25.4 yards per return on kick-offs and 15.3 yards per return on punts. Nixon sits second in the NFL in total return yards with 712, reflecting only eight games.
Rodger’s Strong Statment on Nixon
Aaron Rodgers has had a lot to say about Green Bays’ special teams and Keisean Nixon. After the Bears game, Rodger’s said, “I also want to signal out Kei. He’s been so important for us in changing the kicking game. For a long time here, and I don’t mean this as disrespect, but it’s just the facts, for a long time when that ball is up in the air on kickoff, I’m thinking, ‘stay in, stay in, don’t bring it out,’ because just not a lot of good stuff happens. But I always tell Kei now when he’s about to go out there, ‘bring it out,’ just because he brings an extra type of juice to our football team. And you can win with guys like that. Guys that care about it, guys that are tough, and guys that make big-time plays.”
Keisean Nixon was one of three former Las Vegas Raiders players who followed current Packers and former Raiders special team coach Rich Bisaccia. Now in his fourth year, Nixon was an undrafted free agent from the University of South Carolina via the Las Vegas Raiders.
