Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love throwing a slant route in OTAs

The official start of OTAs (Organized Team Activities) in Green Bay has brought about a fresh wave of optimism as the Packers organization embraces its youth movement. The crucial practice sessions allow the team to participate, refine skills, and build comradery. They can lay the groundwork for a successful or disappointing season. Here are five storylines to follow as OTAs get underway: Jordan Love Takes the Helm as QB1 The Jordan Love era has started in Wisconsin and is not starting well. On the second day of OTAs, QB Jordan Love struggled, completing 3 of 12 passes and finishing with…

Aaron Rodgers

For me, there’s no doubt that Aaron Rodgers will return for the 2023-2024 season. Watching Tom Brady play his last games, it was apparent retirement was on the horizon. With all the rumors, it’s easy to forget if the Packers trade Aaron Rodgers before June 1st, the Packers will eat nearly $40M. After June 1st, the cap hit becomes $15M. Rodger’s 2023 salary needs to be clarified. $58.3M is guaranteed, and the team has an option that, if declined between March 17th, 2023, and the first week of the season, converts the base salary into a bonus figure of $58.3M,…

Matt LaFleur

In 2017, while Matt LaFleur oversaw the offensive for Sean McVay’s Rams, Zac Taylor was an assist wide receivers coach. It’s not surprising after the injury to Damar Hamlin Monday night, LaFleur reached out to Taylor by phone. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported today that Matt LaFleur reached out to both head coaches. He texted Bills coach Sean McDermott and spoke with Zac Taylor briefly on the phone to let them know he was thinking of them.  At Matt LaFleur’s compelling, the Packers held a team meeting this morning to discuss Damar Hamlin. Rob Demovsky of ESPN reported…

Aaron Rodgers

Just hours after what may be the lowest moment in NFL history, Aaron Rodgers gave Pat McAfee a heartfelt statement on Damar Hamlin’s injury. Aaron Rodgers may have had the best reaction to the traumatic event. “I don’t think you just gloss it over like, Oh, on to the Sunday Night Football play-in game for the playoffs. Let’s take a little timeout here. Let’s remember what’s really important.” Rodgers said, “I just think you maybe have an open forum to allow guys to share their emotions. I think as men; sometimes, we’re conditioned to suppress everything, just to put on…

Marcedes Lewis on the Herd Tuesday, veteran NFL tight end Marcedes Lewis joined Colin Cowherd on the Herd to talk about his career, dominant run-blocking, and the Packer’s playoff resurgence. Cowherd lavished kind words on Lewis but couldn’t resist bringing up Aaron Rodgers. Colin Cowherd has built his career on criticizing Aaron Rodgers, but the tenured tight-end wasn’t having it. Marcedes Lewis, a close friend of Aaron Rodgers, had some fascinating insight on playing with the future hall-of-fame quarterback and Aaron’s leadership style. “Aaron has his view and his way,” Marcedes Lewis said. When speaking of the Packer’s dual star…

“When Keisean Nixon followed Rich Bisaccia from Las Vegas to Green Bay, he was excited about the possibility of playing with future hall-of-fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Nixon, a self-proclaimed introvert, didn’t immediately bond with the team–that’s when Rodgers stepped in. Rodgers approached Nixon, inquiring why he was so uptight. When Nixon took offense, Rodgers went in for a good old-fashioned embrace. Keisean Nixon’s reaction was to shove Rodgers away. Rodgers being cool, calm, and collected, replied, “Just bring it in,” and that’s when Nixon let down his guard and went with it. “It felt good,” Nixon said, “I needed it,…

NFL insider Dan Graziano of ESPN is reporting the Las Vegas Raiders are considering releasing QB Derek Carr after the conclusion of the 2022 season. Carr has three years remaining on his contract, but a team-friendly option allowing Oakland to release Carr before February 15th, 2023. Former Green Bay Packer Davante Adams, who has roughly 116 million dollars remaining on his contract, would likely be on the trading block during the 2023 offseason. https://twitter.com/nflrums/status/1594070292975984647?s=20&t=ZmSQgcCRsMsj3Fu8Ynex2w It’s common knowledge that Adams wanted to reunite with his former College QB Carr. I don’t see a scenario where Adams, who will be thirty in…

To no one’s surprise, Packers Rookie Christian Watson has been named NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 10 of the NFL 2022 Season. The North Dakota State Rookie, known for his speed, hauled-in four receptions for 107 yards and scored three touchdowns. Watson played 84% of the offensive snaps against the Cowboys, his highest snap count of the season. Joining Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson is the second Packers player to be awarded Rookie of the Week in 2022. Doubs missed Sunday afternoon’s matchup with an ankle injury. During Week 10, nearly the entire Packer’s receiving corps had an injury…

The Green Bay Packers are favorites to beat the Titans Thursday, but a Vegas longshot to make the NFL playoffs. After the Packer’s victory Sunday over the Cowboys, the Packers are four and six with seven games remaining. The Vikings have a firm grasp on first place in the NFC North with an eight-and-one record. However, the 3 NFC wildcard spots are up for grabs. The Giants, Cowboys, and 49ers currently control those positions. The Packers are sitting in the ninth spot, nestled between Washington and the Atlanta Falcons. Still, most importantly, Sunday’s win over the Cowboys would seemingly give…

colin cowherd on the herd

Colin Cowherd has a public service announcement for all Packers fans. On his daily radio show, The Herd, Cowherd ripped into Packers fans, saying, “Packers fans are spoiled brats!”. What prompted another adolescent outburst from Cowherd besides a genuine lack of intelligence?  Last week Green Bay fans took to social media to criticize Brian Gutekunst’s inability to make a move at the trade deadline. Cowherd arrogantly took it upon himself to attack the fans right back. “In 26 of the last 30 years, the Packers have been 500 or better. That’s insane! That’s insane”. Cowherd continues, “in a league where…
