Aaron Rodgers is still on the Packers’ Week 7 injury report
Aaron Rodgers struggled to throw the ball well during the Green Bay Packers loss in Week 6. Rodgers said before the game he injured his thumb on his right hand (throwing hand) during the Packers’ loss in London. The injury appeared to take its toll on Rodgers as the Packers put up just ten points at home in the loss to the New York Jets. Cameras during the game showed the defending NFL MVP shaking his hand constantly.
It appears to be seen if he’ll be healed before the Packers’ must-win game against the Washington Commanders this week. Rodgers once again made an appearance on the Packers’ injury report. He did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
It’s interesting and concerning that Rodgers’ doesn’t seem to be making progress with the thumb. Last week, he and the Packers made it should like the injury would rehab fast. Missing practice this week is a problem, as it shows last week. The Packers need him in sync with the inexperienced and practice squad wide receivers he’s working with.
Aaron Rodgers was one of the non-participants Wednesday
Here are all of the Packers non-participants in Wednesday’s practice.
- Randall Cobb, WR, Ankle
- Jake Hanson, OL, Biceps
- Aaron Rodgers, QB, Right Thumb
- Christian Watson, WR Hamstring
Here were the Packers’ limited participants on the injury report Wednesday
- David Bakhtiari, OT, Knee
- Elgton Jenkins, OL, Knee
Rashan Gary was listed on Wednesday’s injury report. However, he was a full participant.
Christian Watson’s status will be one to keep an eye on
Watson’s injury is concerning. Last week, head coach Matt LaFleur said it was possible he’d be placed on the injured reserve. He wasn’t placed there last week, and it would be helpful if the team could avoid that. We’ll see if Watson gets moved there this week. That would tell us more about what the Packers would be likely to do in the trade market.
It’s expected that Randall Cobb will be moved there this week. The Packers expect Sammy Watkins to come back from being on the injured reservation and was at practice on Wednesday.
