#1: Enjoy This Season For What It Is
The Packers are the one seed and at the end of the day, their loss to the Lions is nearly meaningless. Anything short of a Super Bowl this season is a lost season.
We don’t know if Aaron Rodgers played his last regular season game in a Packers uniform. We also don’t know if Davante Adams will look for another suitor, as he will be the highest-paid wide receiver in the league. Rodgers is likely the league MVP and has played out of his mind for another year.
I was watching Fox’s pregame and they did a feature about the Bengals. The fan they showcased said the Bengals haven’t won a playoff game since he was nine. He is now 40 years old. For all of us Green Bay fans, the uncertainty after this year is scary to think about.
At the end of the day, we’re the one seed for the second year in a row. The playoffs will run through Lambeau Field. Jordan Love played a half and looked okay, but I don’t believe he is ready yet to carry this team. So, enjoy this run.
#2: Bakhtiari and Myers Getting Live Action Was Crucial
Both starting lineman played about a half. Having the opportunity to play versus the Lions was extremely important heading into the playoffs. The number one goal is to keep Rodgers upright, and Green Bay will surely face some sort of pass rush in our first playoff game.
Yosh Nijman filled in admirably for Bakhtiari. However, the relationship that Rodgers and David have is very important. Rodgers knows his blind side is always covered and it allows him to make great plays happen. That’s especially true when a play has seemingly fallen apart. Additionally, while Josh Myers is only a rookie, he showed in limited time before his injury that he is the center of the future for the Packers.
#3: It Was Kind Of Cool For The Lions To Get A Win
Woah, okay, don’t come after me for that one. The Lions haven’t been competitive with us since Barry Sanders walked away from the game. As I said before, this match was meaningless for us but the Lions broke out all the stops. Their fans have been through so much, and this win probably means a lot to them, especially getting the victory at home. There’s not a lot to celebrate in Detroit, so take this one win, Lions fans.
A lot of the reason for that take is because of Jamaal Williams. While he is now in Detroit, he was a fan favorite in Green Bay. Although he plays for the Lions, he is still beloved by Packers fans and everyone in the Packers organization.
