Tuesday evening marks the start of a three game series between the Milwaukee Brewers (19-16) and St. Louis Cardinals (21-14). The Brewers are entering this series scuffling a bit having gone 4-6 over their last 10 games. On the other hand, the Cardinals have won 8 out of their last 10.
The last time these two teams met, the Brewers won the series two games to three. Unfortunately the Brewers offense is coming in cold while the Cardinals offense has been hot as of late.
Regardless of recent play, both teams enter the matchup on top the National League Central with the Cardinals two games ahead of the Brewers. Although the season is still relatively young this series has a big time feel to it!
Freddy Peralta will be the Brewers pitcher in Tuesday nights series opener. Peralta enters with a 3.38 ERA in 32 innings pitched. His 53 strikeouts is tied for 9th most in the MLB. He will be looking to bounce back for his last start against the Phillies was his worst of the season in which he allowed five earned runs in just four innings pitched.
The offense will also be looking to turn things around. Since the calendar flipped to May the Brewers are tied for the third lowest amount of runs scored at 31. The team is seemingly getting healthier each day after a bad stretch of injuries, which should help this offense find its groove again.
Game 1 of this series will begin at 6:40pm on Tuesday, May 11th. The series will take place at American Family Fields and is the start of a quick six game homestand. Games against the Cardinals are always heated, so be ready for some intense baseball this week!
