The Green Bay Packers will kickoff their 2023 season 90 days from now against the Chicago Bears. In celebration of a new era of Packers football and in anticipation for the upcoming season, Wisconsin Sports Heroics will present the top 100 players in franchise history in the 100 days leading up to the start of the regular season. Our rankings are based on Pro Football References Approximate Value stat, which gives a numeric value to each season a player plays in.
Greatest Green Bay Packers Player: #90- Earl Dotson
We are 11 days into our 100-day countdown to the 2023 Green Bay Packers regular season and already we have our fourth member of the Super Bowl XXXI winning team. Earl Dotson was the starting right tackle in Green Bay for 10 seasons. He, of course, helped the team win the Super Bowl in 1996-97 and helped lead them back to Super Bowl XXXII.
In terms of offensive linemen, Dotson is the third on our list so far and is the second right tackle. As a reminder, the rankings are based on the AV stat provided by Pro Football Reference. Dotson had a career AV of 48, though most of his production came between 1995 and 1999. In those seasons, he had AV’s of 9, 9, 7, 8, and 7.
