The Green Bay Packers have one of the most exciting futures in the league heading into 2024. Not only are they still one of the youngest teams in the league, they were just three points shy of reaching the NFC Championship game four months ago.
Jordan Love was a big reason both Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney decided to come to Green Bay. Now another former free agent is saying there’s no place he’d rather suit up.
The Green Bay Packers Have One Former Free Agent Who Says There’s No Place He’d Rather Play
Keisean Nixon was glad to be back in Green Bay on a new three-year contract after testing free agency.
It was announced in March that Nixon and Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst had agreed to a $18 million contract that guaranteed $6.5 million across three seasons.
“I’m happy I’m back here,” Nixon said Tuesday. “This is where I wanted to be. I didn’t want to go nowhere else. I’m happy my agent and Gutey and them got everything done. Here for at least another three (years).”
“I’m comfortable with (the scheme),” Nixon said. “I like Coach Haf and what’s he’s bringing to the table and his design of the defense. It’ll a little different than how I played it, but it makes sense.”

Keisean Nixon Is Looking For A Three-Peat Of All-Pro Selections
The Packers have had an All-Pro returner in back to back seasons with Nixon.
Nixon began his career in Green Bay as a primary special-teamer who was familiar with then Raiders coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
Toward the midpoint of the 2022 season, he became the team’s primary returner, replacing Amari Rodgers. As a result, Nixon finished the year as the leader in kickoff-return yards and third in kickoff-return average in the NFL.
The highlight of Nixon’s 2022 season came when he returned a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown in a late-season game against the Vikings. It was the first since Randall Cobb took the opening kickoff to the house against the New Orleans Saints in 2011.
Based on Pro Football Focus’ analysis of 32 defensive backs with at least 200 slot snaps in 2023, he ranked 16th with a 98.2 passer rating. His catch rate from the slot was 79.4 percent, and he allowed 535 yards. Despite both being among the worst in the NFL, he allowed fewer than 10 yards per catch and only one touchdown.
It will be interesting to see what kind of role Nixon can carve out in the new Packers’ defense, however, one thing remains certain. He will look to flip field advantage as much as possible.
