There have been times All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has made hints of playing for another team, especially before he signed his extension a couple of years ago with the Milwaukee Bucks. But just recently, a fake trade request about him is making the rounds online, causing fans to believe the Greek Freak wants from his team.
Giannis Antetokounmpo began his NBA career as the 15th overall pick in the 2013 Draft, alongside notable players like Rudy Gobert, Victor Oladipo, and Steven Adams. Initially, as a rookie, he received limited playing time, showcasing his raw potential.

However, Antetokounmpo’s trajectory took an upward turn as he steadily improved over the years. In 2017, he earned the Most Improved Player of the Year award by averaging 22.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. Subsequently, he further solidified his status as one of the league’s elite players by winning back-to-back MVP awards in 2019 and 2020.
The culmination of Antetokounmpo’s journey arrived in 2021 when he led the Bucks to a championship victory against the Phoenix Suns, led by Chris Paul. Despite subsequent early playoff exits due to injuries and roster challenges, it remains undeniable that Antetokounmpo has been the cornerstone of the franchise throughout this entire period, with his two MVP honors highlighting his exceptional talent and impact on the team.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Trade Request From The Milwaukee Bucks Is Not Real

While Antetokounmpo was often mentioned in mock trades and rumors sending him to another team, none of them materialized at all. A tweet by Frank Madden on X highlights a fake trade request from the Greek Freak and how it has spread faster than expected.

It’s not yet known how this alleged request started or what the fake piece of news hopes to achieve. What’s certain, though, is that Antetokounmpo is staying in Milwaukee with head coach Doc Rivers and All-Star guard Damian Lillard to keep their championship window open.

The coming months will be busy for Antetokounmpo as he will attempt to lead Greece into the Olympics. In any case, Bucks fans will have nothing to worry about when it comes to their franchise player.
